Welcome to Lochaline Hotel
We are a cute, cosy, friendly hotel on the West Coast of Scotland with the most amazing view
Our rooms are stylish and comfortable while in keeping with the original building which dates back to 1920 and built from stone mined right next to the hotel. We have an abundance of nature around us with otters, pine martens, dolphins, harbour porpoise, white tailed eagle, oystercatchers, arctic terns, swallows, ringed plover, curlew and many others visiting daily most of the time.
A wildlife wonderland
We are situated amidst the most incredible wildlife in the UK. Not only is the Morvern Peninsula utterly beautiful, but we are surrounded by Otters, Pine Marten, Red Squirrels, White Tailed Eagles, Golden Eagles, Merlin, Peregrine Falcons and numerous other species
Morvern is a Golden Eagle hotspot
A large number of nests on the peninsula means that Goldies are a regular spot
Wildlife photography workshops
We run wildlife photography workshops throughout the year, but particularly in the Autumn/Winter/Spring months. Click for more info.
This is the place for otters!
Loch Sunart has long been famous for its otter population, but the whole peninsula has incredible habitat for otters and they are found all over. We get an otter visiting us in front of the hotel most evenings
Our Rooms
All of our bedrooms are en-suite or have their own bathroom. They all have the comfiest beds, real coffee and a fab TV
Mull
Mull is a King bed room at the front of the hotel with views in front to Old Ardtornish Castle and towards Oban and to the right over to Mull.
Skye
Skye is our other king room at the front of the hotel with wonderful views across to Old Ardtornish Castle and further towards Oban
Uist
Uist is a large twin room with plenty of space. It is based on the side of the hotel and has views across to Mull. It has a private bathroom situated next to the room.
Lismore
Lismore is a twin room. It has a lovely en-suite bathroom that has 3 steps down to it. It is the only bedroom that you can see the pine martens and wildcats at night from.

Iona is our double room at the back of the hotel. It has a garden view with Mull in the background from the side window and a huge bathroom with shower.
